Wetlands & Wall of Tears Tour Itinerary
Around 8:30 a.m. – Arrival at our Isabela agency
Meet your naturalist guide, get fitted with equipment, and start your adventure.
By 9:00 a.m. – Bike ride to Arnaldo Tupiza Giant Tortoise Breeding Center
Learn about the care and breeding of giant tortoises, and explore native flora like manzanillo, algarrobo, tunas, and palo santo.
Mid-morning – Visit to the Wetlands
Bike through trails and lagoons, passing mangrove ecosystems and forests. Possible sightings of wild giant tortoises. Enjoy a picnic or rest at El Estero.
Late morning – Exploration of La Poza Escondida
Walk through mangroves to a quiet pool, then visit Coral Reef Beach where marine iguanas nest.
Before noon – Hike up to Cerro Orchilla Lookout
Climb stairs for panoramic island views.
Around midday – Arrival at the Wall of Tears
Explore this poignant monument built by prisoners in the past.
Early afternoon – Return to Puerto Villamil
Ride back, arriving at the agency. Times may vary with terrain and group pace.
