Discover Scuba Itinerary
Morning Schedule (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
8:00 a.m. – Meet at GALAISLAND Dive Office
Check‑in, gear fitting, and safety briefing. Your instructor will teach basic hand signals and equalization techniques.
8:15 a.m. – Transfer to Muelle Acuario I
Board the dive boat and navigate to the first practice area.
Early morning – Confined‑water practice (shallow)
Practice basic scuba skills in calm, shallow water to build confidence before the open‑water dive.
Mid‑morning – First Guided Dive at Bahía Darwin (~45 minutes, max 12 m)
Dive in calm conditions perfect for beginners. Bahía Darwin is known for playful sea lions, rays, green sea turtles, and colorful reef fish.
Late morning – Surface interval & snacks
Hydrate, rest, and review the highlights with your instructor.
Late morning – Optional Second Dive at Carawa (~45 minutes, max 12 m)
Explore the Carawa shipwreck site, now an artificial reef. Expect tropical fish schools, sea turtles, and occasionally white‑tip reef sharks.
By 12:00 p.m. – Return to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
Arrival time may vary with sea conditions and group pace.
Afternoon Schedule (1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.)
1:30 p.m. – Meet at GALAISLAND Dive Office
Check‑in, gear fitting, and safety briefing with your instructor.
Early afternoon – Confined‑water practice (shallow)
Practice basic skills in shallow water to prepare for the open‑water dive.
Mid‑afternoon – Guided Dive at Bahía Darwin (~45 minutes, max 12 m)
Enjoy an open‑water dive in Bahía Darwin, where sea lions, turtles, rays, and reef fish are common companions.
Late afternoon – Optional Second Dive at Carawa (~45 minutes, max 12 m)
Visit the Carawa shipwreck, a fascinating dive site full of marine biodiversity, including tropical fish, rays, and occasional reef sharks.
By 5:30 p.m. – Return to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno
Estimated arrival at the port after completing the afternoon program.
Important Conditions
All times are approximate and subject to change due to sea/weather conditions and Galápagos National Park regulations. Participants must be in good health and comfortable in the water. Minimum age is 12 years old. Boats and gear are disinfected daily; hand sanitizer is available onboard.
